Description

The Cache Business Resource Center houses SCORE counseling and a procurement assistance center for entrepreneurs. The center also houses a commercial kitchen incubator for culinary startups, allowing chefs to perfect recipes and start a business with low overhead. They also offer business incubation and access to public and private small business resources. Rounding off the services CBRC offers is a series of online “courses” presented as videos on YouTube.

Description

Grow Utah is a statewide organization that promotes economic development by identifying promising startups and then nurturing them to success. Events are hosted throughout the year and each one usually targets a specific industry. The programs are generally free accelerator competitions, awarding mentorship and funding to the most promising startups. Their website also provides a directory of statewide small business resources. Challenge Events are reverse pitch competitions hosted around the state where industry leaders pitch problems to entrepreneurs.

Logan Library

Here are the Principle Service Areas:

Accepts Walks In

Description

The Logan Public Library offers research opportunities, multimedia equipment, and meeting spaces. The library has access to dozens of databases, many of which may be of interest to entrepreneurs looking to do some market research or learning how to start a business. The multimedia lab contains a 3D printer and equipment and software suitable for audio-visual work. The meeting spaces are reservable for a small fee and contain tables, chairs, and multimedia equipment (some rooms). The library also offers to option to “book a librarian” to assist you with research, this can be a great tool to learn how to use a particular database or service.

Restrictions

A library membership is required for remote access to databases.

Description

The greatest strength of the SBDC is their free, confidential, 1-on-1 business mentoring for anyone who seeks it. Sometimes in order to be considered for mentoring from one of their professional business advisors, you may have to attend a class/workshop or at least present your business plan. SBDC's are located all throughout the state and you should use the SBDC closest to your location if possible, but you can often transfer to a different location if they do not fit your needs.

Description

SCORE (Service Corp of Retired Executives) is a leading, nation-wide organization that has assisted millions of entrepreneurs over its 50+ years of operation. SCORE is a resource partner of the SBA that offers access to a network of experienced business leaders who donate time to mentor entrepreneurs and small business owners. They also host free or inexpensive workshops online and at 300 local chapters around the United States. Mentoring can be conducted either in person or remotely and is always free and confidential, no matter how often you take advantage of this service.

Utah State University Incubator Kitchen

Here are the Principle Service Areas:

Description

The Incubator Kitchen offers workshops and commercial kitchen space for culinary startups who are looking to create, package and sell food. Workshops cover important regulatory information particular to Utah’s “cottage food” industry and helps startup ensure they operate in compliance with local and federal laws. The kitchen itself has 5 complete cooking bays and is provided to startups for free during the first 6 months of operation (additional time can be rented past 6 months).
